Barlborough Hall School is an independent Jesuit Preparatory School for boys and girls aged 3 to 11 years. It is situated in an estate of some 320 acres in protected countryside on the edge of the village of Barlborough, a few minutes drive from the M1 motorway. London is two and a half hours away by car and Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester, East Midlands and Leeds/Bradford airports are within easy reach via the motorway network.

The school began as the junior school to Mount St. Mary's College, founded by the Society of Jesus in the 1840's, and was established as a separate Preparatory School when it moved to Barlborough Hall in 1939. Today close links are established between the two schools, providing a shared vision of education for children from the ages of 3 to 18 years.

The Hall, a Grade 1 listed building, was built in 1583 by Francis Rodes: now adopted as a school it retains much of its original character. The chapel and many of the teaching rooms are in the Central Hall, while the Jacobean stable outbuildings and domestic quarters house the Early Years department for children aged 3 to 5 years, the theatre, recreation rooms and gym. All the buildings are inter-connected and centrally heated throughout. An indoor heated swimming pool and a modern science and technology block add to the school's excellent facilities.
