Welcome to our Council and Democracy section. Barlborough Parish Council works in partnership with central and local government to help support the citizens of the Parish.
Barlborough Parish Council plays a vital part in representing the interests of the community it serves and improve the quality of life and local environment. The Parish Council has a list of powers which means it can have a role in Planning, Highways, Community Safety, Street Lighting, Cemeteries, Community Centres, War Memorials, Seats and Shelters and Rights of Way.
Bolsover District Council manage a large number of services, most prominently Council Tax collection and domestic refuse collection. Derbyshire County Council are responsible for many key services including Education, Highways and Planning, Community Safety (including the Fire Service) Social Services and Economic Development. Central Government manage national services that are relevant to anyone in UK society, irrespective of location.
