Barlborough Medical Practice is one of 4 practices in the North East Derbyshire Primary Care Network (NED PCN)
The staff of NED PCN have been working extremely hard in the last few weeks finalising plans for clinics so things are ready to go as soon as we receive our first allocated batch of the covid 19 vaccination.
We are excited to announce that today we received confirmation that our first batch of the Pfizer vaccine will be sent to NED PCN next week!
The clinics will be on Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th Jan, held at The Springs Health Centre in Clowne and will be run by staff from all 4 practices.
The first clinics will be following the government guidance and prioritised for patients over 80 years old.
Please DO NOT contact the surgery to make an appointment, we will contact eligible patients. If any patients over 80 years are not booked in this clinic they will be prioritised for the next clinic.
We are also keeping a waiting list of patients who are front line health and social care workers who have not been able to access a vaccine at their place of work. These patients will be called as soon as vaccine is available.
Any patients over 80 years who are housebound will be vaccinated as soon as we receive a suitable vaccine that can be transported safely to patients houses.
Please be assured the staff are working very hard and doing all they can to deliver the vaccine to as many patients as possible. Unfortunately we are not in control of the supply of the vaccine and we can only administer what we have been given.
We are hopeful that in the coming months the AstraZeneca vaccine will be supplied in greater quantities to PCNs and as this vaccine does not have to be defrosted and used within a short time frame we would be able to run the clinics directly at Barlborough medical Practice and be more flexible with clinics.
Thank you for your patience.
